Certain times of the morning, during certain times of the year, we are observed.
One notices this when standing at the back door in our kitchen and looking out the window.
The glare of two large mysterious eyes.

A trick of the light? Most probably. Although I can’t see what’s reflecting what where. Or why.
I suppose one could just chalk it up to an explainable oddity.
But here’s the thing.
When I’ve seen him before, I don’t remember the eyelids being there.
The eyelids, which seem to indicate an attitude. Kind of a “whatever” vibe.
This seems to say “I’m watching you, but you’re boring me.”
Fair enough.
Watching our kitchen door can’t be that exciting.
Maybe you’re thinking what I’m thinking?
Yes, I DO think they’re the disinterested eyes of Loki, Norse god of mischief!
Good, we’re all on the same page.
You ask “But what-ho, Rick, isn’t this year of blogs over yet?”
And more to the topic at hand, “What will you do to repel the trickster god?”
I’ll ignore the first question and move directly to the second and say…I dunno!
Short of taking my shirt off and doing a sexy dance out the back window, there’s not a lot I can do, and why offend my neighbors?
No, I’m afraid I’ve got to hope he just gets bored and goes home.
So, yeah, that’s about it.
But I swear to god, if I see the damn things blink, I’ll shit myself.
